The Malta women’s national team player scored Sunderland’s third in the game, to put her side 3-1 ahead. For Farrugia, this was her first goal in England’s second-tier for a total of 10 goals in four seasons at the Lassies.

Meanwhile, Ylenia Carabott played for Keynsham Town as they defeated Hounslow 6-2 in the FA Women’s National League – England’s third-tier.
Maltese youth Emma Ciantar Piccinino played for Middlesbrough Reserves in their 2-0 defeat at the hands of Redcar Town Ladies in the semi-final of the County Cup.
