Watch: Patience is key to succeed in archery

John Schembri said that patience is a key aspect for athletes to achieve success in archery.

Schembri, who is the president of the Malta Archery Association, was speaking to Ben Camille during this week’s edition of Game On where he gave an insight of the sport in Malta.

Schembri, who is also the head coach of the Malta national team, said that archery is a sport that needs a lot of commitment and the local governing body has worked hard to improve the level of coaching over the years.

“For someone to practice the sport of archery one needs a lot of commitment, good physical strength but most importantly a high level of concentration that needs to be kept for a long time during competition,” Schembri said.

“Here at the Malta Archery Association we are blessed to have a national team formed by archers who have a strong bond between them as they have competed several times together overseas.

“The only problem we have on the international scene is the fact that being a small island, our archers have very little opportunities to compete on the international scene which would provide them with much-needed experience that would instill self-confidence in their ability.”

Hottest games predictions

The challenge between Ben Camille and Times of Malta Sports Editor Valhmor Camilleri is heating up, as they continue trying to predict the results of the hottest games happening this weekend.

How did they do last week?

Ben Camille gained some ground after week 15 of the hottest games of the week challenge.

In fact, Ben Camille managed to predict that Milan would beat Lazio 2-0 and that the FA Cup final clash between Liverpool and Chelsea would finish in a draw after regular time to collect 50 points.

On the other hand, Valhmor Camilleri only managed ten points for guessing that Milan would have the better of Lazio.

Total Scores after week 15

In the overall standings, Valhmor Camilleri leads the way with 570 points while Ben Camille is trailing with 470 points.

We will keep you updated with a tally of their scores every week. A correct result (picking a win, draw or defeat) is worth 10 points. The exact score earns 40 points.

Liverpool vs Wolves (Sunday at 17.00)

Liverpool will be gunning for all three points when they host Wolves and hope leaders Manchester City drop points against Aston Villa to secure the Premier League title in what promises to be a dramatic final day of the season.

Jurgen Klopp’s men kept up the pressure on City in midweek as despite they fielded a weakened side they still managed to come from behind and beat Southampton at the St Mary’s Stadium to cut the gap over City to just one point.

Klopp’s side are chasing an unprecedented quadruple after winning the League Cup and FA Cup, with a Champions League final to come against Real Madrid later this month.

But the Reds need to be focused on their own performance against Wolves at Anfield to ensure they can make the most should City drop points at the Etihad Stadium.

Ben Camille’s prediction: Liverpool vs Wolves 2-0.

Valhmor Camilleri’s prediction: Liverpool vs Wolves 3-0.

Manchester City vs Aston Villa (Sunday at 17.00)

Leaders Manchester City can reconfirm their status as English champions on Sunday with victory over Aston Villa at the Etihad Stadium.

The Citizens are desperate to end the campaign with the Premier League title to try and make up for their disappointment of missing out on a place in the Champions League final.

Pep Guardiola’s men have little margin for error but have their title destiny in their hands as they would secure a fourth Premier League title in the last five seasons with victory over Aston Villa.

Liverpool will surely be hoping for a helping hand from their former skipper Steven Gerrard, now manager at Aston Villa, to try and stop City’s march towards another victory in the hope they can push the title towards Anfield Road on Sunday evening.

Ben Camille’s prediction: Man. City vs Aston Villa 2-0.

Valhmor Camilleri’s prediction: Man. City vs Aston Villa 2-0.

Sassuolo vs Milan (Sunday at 18.00)

AC Milan take the field at Sassuolo ready to end an 11-year Scudetto drought and announce their return to the top table.

Stefano Pioli’s side are two points ahead of reigning champions Inter Milan and only need to draw to claim their first league crown since 2011, and they look almost guaranteed to do so after a hugely impressive run-in.

Consecutive wins over tricky opponents Lazio, Fiorentina and Verona were followed up by last weekend’s 2-0 home victory over Atalanta, after which a packed San Siro celebrated as though the title was already theirs.

Pioli has an almost full squad to pick from against a team which beat Milan 3-1 earlier in the season and will have the backing of an estimated 18,000 fans at the Mapei Stadium in Reggio Emilia for a title party which will then spill back into Milan.

Ben Camille’s prediction: Sassuolo vs Milan 0-2.

Valhmor Camilleri’s prediction: Sassuolo vs Milan 0-1.

Inter vs Sampdoria (Sunday at 18.00)

Inter will be hoping for a ‘minor miracle’ on Sunday when they host Sampdoria at the San Siro.

The Nerazzurri, who are currently two points adrift of Milan and with an inferior head-to-head record against their city rivals, must beat Sampdoria at the San Siro and hope Milan lose at Sassuolo to retain their Scudetto.

Despite the difficult scenario, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi still believes that his team can snatch the title and the 46-year-old has experience with last-day drama, pipping Juventus to the title 22 years ago when a Lazio player.

Two points behind Juve heading into the final weekend, Inzaghi was a scorer in Lazio’s 3-0 win over Reggina which left his team top while fans waited anxiously in the stands for news from Perugia.

A powerful storm had caused Juve’s match there to be halted and when it restarted over an hour later Alessandro Calori scored Perugia’s winner at the start of the second half, causing Lazio fans to pour into the streets of Rome to celebrate their second league title.

Ben Camille’s prediction: Inter vs Sampdoria 1-0.

Valhmor Camilleri’s prediction: Inter vs Sampdoria 3-0.
