Raiders Lija women’s team announced their fourth summer signing after bringing in young defender Eunice Micallef.
Micallef, 18, has joined Raiders from Swieqi United joining Ylenia Grech who also swapped The Owls with the Lija-based side.
“I felt that I needed a new challenge, new teammates and a new environment,” Micallef told the Times of Malta.
“Raiders Lija is an organised club and has a good environment for players so it was easy to make my decision.”
The young defender is a Malta U-19’s international having played in the European qualifications which saw the Maltese claim a historic promotion to League A.
She has represented her country four times at youth level.
Last season, Micallef made two appearances for Swieqi’s first-team in the Maltese top-flight. At U-20’s level, she was an established player with 10 games for the Oranges in this category.
“Raiders Lija is a new exciting challenge for me and it can help me grow a lot as there are several good players technically in the team,” she explained.
“In addition, there are also big expectations so we will be working to stage the best performances for positive results.”
