Balzan FC have confirmed the signing of the Brazilian forward Matheus Souza.
In a statement, the Premier League club said that the 28-year-ol was a typical number nine forward with good strength in the box.
Souza becomes Balzan’s sixth signing of the summer transfer window following the arrival of goalkeeper Jonathan Debono, defender Duvan Torres, wingers Luca Mallia and Angel Torres, and attacking midfielder Aidan Friggieri.
“Balzan F.C. is pleased to announce the signing of 28-year-old Brazilian striker Matheus Souza,” the Premier League club said in a statement.
“Matheus came through the Academy at Corinthians in Brazil before signing his first professional contract with Bahia in 2013. Matheus then moved to Portugal in 2019 where he played for 3 seasons with Praiense, Amora and Lourosa.
“Matheus is best described as a typical number 9 with good strength in the box, a very good eye for goal and very consistent finishing.
“We welcome Matheus to Malta and we are sure that he can be a very important part of the squad and help the club greatly in fulfilling our ambitions for season 2022/23.”
