Corsa is gearing up for the third and final edition of its Beat Your PB race series on November 23, 2024, now featuring a newly accredited AIMS (Association of International Marathons and Distance Races) route in Xemxija.
This official certification, overseen by Stefano Bassan, a grade-A international measurer, guarantees that the race meets World Athletics standards, ensuring precise and fair conditions for all participants.
For the first time, this certified route will be available to Maltese runners, adding an exciting new challenge for athletes aiming for personal bests or national records.
The 5K race, starting at 8am, takes place on a flat, 0-meter elevation course, offering ideal conditions for fast times.
This out-and-back route from Xemxija to Manikata and back removes the difficulties of elevation, allowing runners to focus purely on their performance.
The route builds on the success of previous Beat Your PB events, where standout athletes like Dillon Cassar, Charlton Debono and Charlie Cilia set new national records in their categories.
Matthew Pace, Corsa’s Race Director, shared the ethos behind the event: “At Corsa, we believe in pushing boundaries, both physical and mental. The flat, scenic courses are designed to help everyone, from professional athletes to casual runners, beat their personal bests, and the results speak for themselves.”
This philosophy of personal growth and progress has been a hallmark of the Beat Your PB series, drawing significant recognition within Malta’s running community.
The AIMS certification elevates the event’s significance, ensuring that all results are recognized for national rankings and international competitions.
Athletes who set personal bests or national records will see their performances validated on the global stage, making this race an important opportunity for those seeking international recognition, including potential qualification for events like the Games of the Small States of Europe (GSSE).
In addition to the main 5K race, Corsa will also feature two family-friendly runs: the 1KM Competitive Kids Run for ages 7-12 at 8:45 am, and the 500m Fun Run for ages 4-18 at 9am.
Parents are invited to run alongside their children in the 500m Fun Run, promoting a fun, community-oriented experience for families.
With registration already open, Corsa is encouraging runners to sign up early via its Facebook event page or the Active platform.
The certified course, along with a history of record-breaking performances, is expected to attract runners from across Malta and beyond.
Whether you’re an elite athlete or a casual runner, this event offers the perfect platform to test your limits or enjoy a day of fitness with family.
The final Beat Your PB series race on November 23 promises to cap off the year with a memorable event for all, offering both a competitive stage for record-breaking athletes and a fun-filled day for families.
