Teddy Teuma captained Royal Union St Gilloise to their first win of the season after beating Sporting Charleroi 1-0 in their second game of the Belgian championship.
The Malta international, who played 83 minutes, put on a strong showing and came close to find the net but his freekick attempt was denied by the crossbar in the second half.
Ross Sykes scored the winning goal early in the second half as Teuma’s Union have four points.
Next Tuesday, Union will host Scottish champions Rangers in the first leg of the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League.
