Three Lithuanian basketball coaches – Rolandas Radvila, Aurimas Verbukas and Edvinas Justa – will be in Malta this weekend to conduct a Development Basketball Coaching Clinic.
The clinic gets under way on Friday, with the first session at the MBA Complex in Ta’ Qali between 6 pm and 9 pm followed by the second and final session on Saturday between 9.30am and 12.30pm.
The guest coaches will be sharing their knowledge and vast experience with the clinic participants, focusing on several interesting topics such as individual developmental needs (inside and perimeter), individual techniques, group tactics and team tactics.
Coach Rolandas Radvila enjoys a strong reputation as one of the leading coaches, having guided his youth teams to victory in many championships.
In addition to coaching teams, also at senior level, in Russia and Lithuania, Radvila served as the Head Coach of the youth national teams of the Lithuania Basketball Federation between 2015 and 2021.
Lithuanian play-caller Aurimas Verbukas, also known as Coach Ollie, boasts national and international team coaching experience.
With multiple national championship titles to his name, Verbukas has overseen the development of several players who have gone on to become professional players in many European leagues, and also studied and played in the NCAA. He has also been involved in top basketball camps around Europe, including Deng Top 50, Nida 97, and Chus Mateo Academy.
Coach Edvinas Justa has guided his teams to nine children basketball championships in Lithuania and is also a two-time youth Euro League qualification winner. He was also the Head Coach of the Lithuania U-16 national team.
