Malta title holders Starlites FIJO announced their latest signing on Sunday as they confirmed Maltese/Australian guard Matt Attard to their roster for the coming season.
The former University of St Francis player, playing in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) in the US, comes originally from Melbourne. However, club sources have told the Times of Malta that Attard is eligible to play as a local player due to his dual citizenship by family.

With the Fighting Saints, Attard, who also has experience playing in the Australian Big V championship, managed 19 games played across two seasons, playing nine in his senior year at the university. However, 6’2 Attard should be a valid addition to coach Paul Ferrante’s clan as he can play at both guard positions.
