Cheveresan arrives in Malta to complete Valletta FC transfer

Brazilian striker Flavio Cheveresan has arrived in Malta to complete his transfer to Valletta FC, the Times of Malta can confirm.

The veteran Brazilian striker has struck a verbal agreement with the capital club that will see him complete a return to Maltese football after a few years.

Valletta have been looking to add more firepower to their squad and have identified Cheveresan as the perfect profile to complement their squad.

On Sunday, the Times of Malta had reported that the Citizens had a deal in principle with the towering Brazilian forward who is expected to put pen to paper on a one-year contract.

Cheveresan is not a new face to Maltese football.

In fact, the 33-year-old striker arrived in Mata in the summer of 2019 when he joined Sirens and helped the St Paul’s Bay club to an historic qualification to the UEFA Europa League.

During that campaign, he made 18 appearances and scored five goals.

The following season he moved to Floriana FC where he spent one season. With the Greens he made 19 appearances and scored five goals.

After that campaign, Cheveresan moved to the Middle East where he joined Bahraini club Al-Muharraq with whom he won the AFC Cup.

Should the transfer go through, Cheveresan will be in line to make his debut for Valletta FC against Pieta Hotspurs on Friday.
