Last season’s runners-up and Knock-Out winners Mellieha Libertas announced their latest signing on Friday when they confirmed US forward Connor Zinaich to their squad for the upcoming season.
The 6’6 player joins on the back of his senior year at the Nova Southeastern University Sharks. Last season, he appeared in 25 games off the bench, averaging 9.7 points per game and 3.6 rebounds. He finished second on the team in blocks (0.8 per game).
Mellieha Libertas sign local duo Bugeja, Bonnici
Zinaich is one of no less than five new signings the club has made over the summer after bringing Malta international David Bugeja, as well as local duo Robert Bonnici, Sam Zammit, and Nikola Jovanovic.

They will be part of a heavily rotated squad led by coach Christian Narciso, who also takes over this season after former coach Adrian Mifsud took on a more administrative role within the Mellieha club.

The side led by Mifsud made history by reaching the playoff and knockout finals for the first time in their history. They won the knockout by default after their opponents Hibernians were kicked out of the competition due to a tanking incident on the final day of the regular season.
