Goalkeeper Maya Cachia is set to start a new adventure in Italian football after putting pen to paper on a deal with Venezia Calcio Femminile, the Times of Malta can reveal.
Cachia, born in 2004, will be part of the Serie C side for the 2022/2023 season.
This will be her second year in Italy’s third-tier after being on the books of Crotone in her debut season in Italy, in the previous campaign.
At Crotone, Cachia played five games between Serie C and Coppa Italia – Serie C, making her debut in the latter competition when she played against ASD Coscarello.
Cachia has one senior cap for Malta having played during the 3-1 win over Moldova in last February’s VisitMalta Women’s Tournament.
Venezia are expected to be one of the strongest sides in Serie C after placing third in their Girone B campaign last season, with 63 points in 30 games.
