Hibernians part ways with first-team coach Andrea Pisanu

Hibernians FC have announced that they have parted ways with first-team coach Andrea Pisanu.

On Sunday, Hibernians suffered another blow in their pursuit of European football next season when they were beaten by rivals Balzan 2-1 that condemned them to a fourth successive defeat.

The result left the Paolites in sixth place on 30 points, level with Balzan and five points adrift of third-placed Birkirkara, who occupy the final spot of UEFA Conference League qualification.

“The club announces that it has reached an amicable agreement with Mr. Andrea Pisanu to part ways,” Hibernians FC said in a statement.

“The club takes this opportunity to thank Mr. Pisanu for the professionalism and gentlemanly conduct shown during his short spell at the club and wishes him the best of luck in his future endeavours.”

Pisanu arrived at Hibernians at the start of the season when he replaced Stefano Sanderra as Hibernians first-team coach after the latter left the club to head to Italy and take over the Primavera team of SS Lazio.

The Italian has managed to lead the team to the third qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League and also lift the BOV Super Cup when they beat Floriana in a penalty shoot-out.
