Swieqi United’s Konlan keeps clean sheet on Ghana women debut

Cynthia Konlan has launched her Ghana career with a clean sheet after her national team defeated Benin 3-0 in an international friendly, on Sunday.

Konlan is currently Swieqi United’s number 1 choice this season having arrived during the summer transfer window, together with fellow Ghana player Rebecca Atinga.

The Swieqi custodian, who represented her nation at last summer’s U-20’s World Cup in Costa Rica, was selected with the senior side for the first team.

Swiss coach Nora Hauptle deployed Konlan from the start with the Swieqi player putting a full shift without conceding a goal.

The two African sides will meet in a second friendly, on February 25.

Meanwhile, Alexis Espitia continued to find the net for the El Salvador national team during this February international window.

The Hibernians forward scored a brace and recorded an assist as her side rubbed shoulders with local side Santa Tecla.
