Sirens and Pietà had nothing to play for bar pride and they played out an uneventful goalless draw at the Centenary Stadium.

Sirens had the best of chances with winger Ricardo Correa going close with an angled shot that was palmed away by Reece Cini and Degran Jackson shot wide.

Duarte squared for Armah Vaikainah whose shot was pushed away by Cini.

Armen Hovhannisyan came closest for his side when his effort was blocked into a corner.

Winston Muscat named a strong team out including Marcelo Pereira and Degran Jackson who both did not start in last week’s draw against Hibernians.

Pietà created little, but with the potent pairing of Hovhannisyan and Kian Leonardi up front, there was always a sniff of a chance on offer for the relegated side.

As for Sirens, they were kept quite by the Hotspurs defence who mended their first-half glitches. Soon after the restart, the Armenian striker hit a low drive which was saved by Matthew Grech.

It was not until the 67th minute of the match the teams managed to wake the scarse crowd out of their slumber.

Daniel Zerafa dinked a shot straight at Grech. On the other side, the second choice goalkeeper Jake Farrugia pushed a Armah Vaikainah’s shot over the bar.

Hovhannisyan looked the calmest player for Pietà and whent close with a point-blank header that was kept out by the alert Andriy Vella at the death.

That capped a disappointing season for Pieta’ as they return to the Challenge League after just one season.
