Malta international Aaron Falzon has parted ways with French NM1 side Mulhouse Basket Agglomeration, the club announced on Wednesday.

Falzon, who is currently in Malta preparing for the Games of the Small States of Europe (GSSE) 2023 held on the island, averaged 12.1 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists a game in his second stint in France after having spent some time with Etoile Angers back in the 2020-21 season.

“The MBA announces the departures of Aaron, Fred and Yannis. We thank them for their investment and professionalism. We wish you the best in your new projects,” the club said in a statement.

This comes after a season that saw Falzon reach a season-high 14 rebounds against Besanco in September and 27 points in a month later against Boulogne-sur-Mer. He was an integral part of the squad, playing an average 27.8 minutes each game as the three-point sharpshooter also won league MVP for the fifth gameday.

Mulhouse’s run this season ended in the playoffs when they were eliminated by Andrezieux after a 2-1 series defeat in May. Falzon topped the scoring with 22 points in Game One – a 93-85 win.

The 6’8 forward joined the French side over the summer after a season in Austria with the Traiskirchen Lions and will be looking for his next destination following his GSSE commitments with the Malta National Team. He will be hoping to get better minutes on court after an injury had restricted his time last summer in the FIBA Small Countries Games which saw Malta finish with a Silver medal, runner-up to winners Armenia.
