Malta golfer Andy Borg won Mid-Amateur and Senior categories, while placing eighth at the 20th Estonian Amateur Open.
The Estonia Amateur Open was held at the Pärnu Bay Golf Links between Friday and Sunday and featured a 54-hole stroke play, the competition being a World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) event.
Borg braved the wind and rain at the golf course and posted scores of +5, +2, and +1 to finish in eighth place with an aggregate score of +8.
The overall winner was Richard Teder (Estonia) who posted an aggregate score of -6, followed by compatriot Ralf Johan Kivi with an aggregate score of -4. Veikka Viskar (Finland) completed the podium with an aggregate score of -3. Andy won both the Mid- Amateur and Senior Categories, winning by five and fifteen shots respectively.
This comes days after Borg became the Royal Malta Golf Club champion for an impressive 10th time in his career where a dramatic three days saw Borg and Ruud Critien tied with one hole to play. Using his experience in the tricky conditions, Borg played conservatively to par the 18th whilst Ruud scored a bogey.
