Starlites hoping to strengthen squad ahead of title defence
Malta women’s champions Starlites FIJO announced their latest signing when they made their Paige Cannon signing official.
In a short statement on their socials, the Naxxar side welcomed the US forward to the team.
“Paige Cannon will join our women’s team this season! Welcome to Starlites Paige!” the statement read.

Cannon, who joins after experiences in Portugal, Mexico, Sweden, and her home country the US, signed with the Maltese club in early August, sources confirmed with the Times of Malta.
The 6’1 forward averaged 33.7 minutes a game last season in Portugal with CAB Madeira. Averaging 8.5 points per game, Cannon was a threat from the line, going 79.5%. On defence, her 7.7 rebounds per game average will give opponents second thoughts.
The addition of the former Duquesne University player to the squad will be a boost for the side which is looking to maintain the women’s crown after last season’s title-winning campaign.
Starlites won last season’s championship with a 2-1 series victory over the previous season’s champions Caffe Moak Luxol.
