Maltese side met the Three Lions in Wembley Stadium earlier this month.
The Malta men’s national team has dropped one place into 172nd following the latest FIFA rankings issued on Thursday.
Michele Marcolini’s side are at the back of a brave display against England to wrap up their UEFA Euro 2024 qualifications.
Unfortunately for Malta, though, the encouraging performance was not enough to help Marcolini’s side secure at least a point against Gareth Southgate’s England.
In fact, Malta placed bottom of their European qualifying group without at least a single point for the first time since the Euro 2000 edition.
Meanwhile, England are now up to third behind France and Argentina.
The next rankings will be published on December 21.
