Malta international was in the starting formation for Farense.
Zach Muscat was part of a brave Farense side that held Portugal champions Benfica to a 1-1 draw at the famous Estadio Da Luz, on Friday night.
Although Benfica dominated proceedings, it was Farense who forged ahead through Claudio Falcao in the 51st minute.
Benfica, who had World Cup winner Angel Di Maria in the starting formation, did level terms through Rafa Silva as the home side started to muster up more goalscoring opportunities to make their pressure count.
However, spectacular saves by the goalkeeper and an excellent defensive phase propelled Farense to a famous draw.
The Malta international played 90 minutes recording an impressive 10 clearances while winning four duels from nine between ground and aerial, highlighting his extensive defensive duties against Benfica.
Farense move to 17 points in seventh place after 13 outings, while Benfica now trail leaders Sporting by one point.
Muscat’s team will host Estrela Amadora in next weekend’s league game while Benfica take on Braga in a highly-anticipated clash.
Back in 2017, Estadio da Luz welcomed another Maltese player in Andre Schembri who had found the net in a thrilling six-goal draw.
