Maltese champions face Mġarr United in Friday night’s kick-off.
Birkirkara women’s team have signed Japanese player Nanako Kobayashi until the end of the season.
Kobayashi, 26, is reported to have an option to extend her stay at the Maltese club for another year as well.
The Japanese player is described as a versatile player as she can be used both as a defender and as a midfielder.
Led by coach Jose Borg, Birkirkara lead the Assikura Women’s League ahead of their second round finale against Mġarr United on Friday night.
