Milan product played for the Citizens between 2021 and 2023
Alessandro Guarnone is set for a return to Maltese football after the Italian goalkeeper has agreed terms to return to his former club Valletta on a two-and-a-half-year deal, the Times of Malta can confirm.
The Italian goalkeeper was recently plying his trade in Bulgaria at Etar with whom he made just a couple of appearances in the domestic cup.
This will be his second spell at the Citizens having played 46 games in all competitions between 2021 and 2023.
Guarnone, 24, has also played for Birkirkara in the Maltese football. He made 20 appearances for the Stripes having joined them from Switzerland’s Chiasso.
In his native Italy, Guarnone was nurtured by giants Milan before playing for Matera as well.
Vincenzo Potenza’s Valletta resume their Premier League campaign this weekend against Gudja United.
They sit just outside the relegation red zone with just 11 points to show for their efforts.
Over the last weekend, they progressed to the FA Trophy’s last 16 after hitting Għajnsielem for seven.
