Idao De Tillard tops Grand Prix D’Amerique in Vincennes
The new 2024 season started during the weekend with the first and the second meeting of the year. In total 14 races for trotters on a short distance of 2140m were held during these two days.
The most important race, open for class Premier trotters was won by Eldorado De Ver driven by Noel Baldacchino. Last year’s champion driver Rodney Gatt ended the best driver of the weekend with five wins.
Fifteen trotters lined up for the class Premier race.
The early leader, Caprice De Cosse (Charles Camilleri) was outsmarted midway through the final straight by Eldorado De Ver (Noel Baldacchino) which past the finishing post easily by a length.
The winner clocked an average time of 1.14.5” per kilometre.
Gafa’ in fifth place
Saturday afternoon, Maltese driver Jesmar Gafa’ took part in the international race Coupe Internationale Des Amateurs organised at the Vincennes Racetrack in Paris on a short distaance of 2100m.
Driving Exotic Jet, Gafa’ ended in fifth place. The race was won by Fergie Highland driven by Danish Martin Andreasen.
Prix d’Amerique
Driven by young French driver Clement Duvaldestin, Idao De Tillard won on Sunday this year’s edition of the prestigious Grand Prix D’Amerique.

This race was held at the Vincennes Hippodrome in Paris, France on a long distance of 2,700 metres.
Eighteen horses lined up for the Amerique which was run in front of over 40,000 spectators
The winner clocked an average time of 1.11.6” per kilometer. This was also the first win in the Amerique for Clement Duvaldestin.
