Mġarr and Paola Yes2Health Fitness Club secure wins in First Division

The First Division championship took centre stage at the Cottonera Sports Complex this weekend as the Malta Volleyball Association season continued.

There were no matches from the women’s Super League scheduled for this weekend but action focused on the Division One, with two matches played on Saturday.

In the opening match, Mġarr Volley eased past Birkirkara Yellows 3-0.

The second match from the second-tier was far more hard-fought as Paola Yes2Health Fitness Club had to dig deep into their reserves to overcome the challenge of Swieqi Phoenix EY 3-2.

The First Division Championship resumes next Saturday when Paola Yes2Health Fitness plays Depiro while BKVC Reds face BKVC Yellows.

Paola Yes2Health Fitness Club battled past Swieqi Phoenix EY last weekend.

On the other hand, the women’s Super League will resume on Sunday when Paola Executive Security take on Flyers at 3pm and will be followed by the clash between Birkirkara VC and Swieqi Phoenix Sugar ‘N Spike.

RESULTS

U17 League: Swieqi Phoenix Block N Roll vs Paola Maypole 3-2; BKVC Storms vs Falcons 0-3; BKVC Lightnings vs Swieqi Phoenix Challengers 0-3.

U19 League: BKVC Vixens vs BKVC Sirens 3-0.

First Division: BKVC Yellows vs Mġarr Volley 0-3.

Swieqi Phoenix EY vs Paola Yes2Health Fitness Club 2-3.

U15 League: BKVC Dynamites vs Flyers 1-3; Swieqi Phoenix Volley Maniacs vs Depiro 0-3.
