Canadian-born player has one goal at youth level for Malta.
Michela Ionadi, who represents Malta at international level, will embark on her first European adventure after signing with Ternana for the upcoming 2024/2025 season.
Ternana are currently vying for a Serie A promotion as they sit second in the Serie B on 57 points after 23 outings.
At U-19’s level, Ternana sit seventh in an eight-team championship.
Ionadi, 17, is a versatile player that can cover roles both as a defender and as a midfielder.
In Canada, she has been playing for Milton Magic Soccer Club and her performances had caught the eye of the Malta FA who had invited her to join the national team set up.
She made five appearances for the U-19’s including in the European Championships qualifications where she also found the net in a 4-2 defeat against the Faroe Islands.
“This is a dream come true for me. I am incredibly grateful for the support from Milton Magic, my family, coaches, and teammates who have believed in me every step of the way,” Ionadi told Milton Magic’s official website.
“Representing Malta’s U19 National Women’s team was an honour, and now committing to Ternana Women’s Calcio in Italy is an opportunity I am eagerly looking forward to.
I’m ready to embark on this next chapter of my career and contribute to my new team’s success.”
