The Malta Premier League has called for all football fans to help them choose the new symbol of the Maltese top-tier championship.
Earlier this year, the Malta Premier League signed a joint-venture agreement with the Malta Football Association which will see them jointly manage a newly-established company which will organise the Premier League for the next five seasons, starting from 2024-25.
In a statement, the Malta Premier League announced that after issuing a public call, four designs have been shortlisted and have been put in front of the public for their opinion.

“Football fans will be able to share their opinion on which should be the new symbol of the Malta Premier,” the Malta Premier League said in a statement.
“Sixty-eight submissions were made following a public call, with four designs being shortlisted and submitted to the public for their opinion.
“The concept brief revolved around the Maltese Falcon, which is a National symbol known worldwide.”
The Malta Premier League said that to vote for your favourite symbol log on to https://maltapremierleague.mt/. The voting process closes on April 30.

Why didn’t the MPL clubs consult their member supporters with regards to the new proposed format? Fans, especially those who contribute by paying the annual membership, should have some kind of say as major stakeholders.
Clubs say they want to attract fans to the Stadium…they should start by giving them the relevance and importance they deserve in these kind of decisions.
