Ħamrun Spartans to kickstart title party on Saturday
This season’s battle to avoid relegation will be decided on Friday when the four teams who are looking to retain their Premier League status will play their final match of season concurrently in four different stadium.
Mosta, Santa Lucia, Gżira United, and Balzan are looking to avoid joining Valletta, Gudja United and Sirens in next season’s Challenge League.
After last weekend’s programme of fixtures, these four teams are separated by just three points and everything is still wide open.
In a statement, the Malta FA announced that the matches involving these four teams will be played on Friday, with kick off time set at 7pm.
Marsaxlokk and Balzan will face each other at the Tedesco Stadium.
On the other hand, Mosta and Naxxar Lions will face each other in the ‘Derby of the North’ at the Tony Bezzina Stadium.
Santa Lucia will take on Birkirkara at the Centenary Stadium while the clash between Gżira United and Floriana will be played at the National Stadium.
Meanwhile, Ħamrun Spartans will celebrate their title triumph on Saturday when they face Hibernians at 2pm.
The final Matchday of the season will get under way at the Centenary Stadium on Thursday when Sliema Wanderers play Sirens at 6pm, followed by the clash between Valletta and Gudja United at 8.30pm.
