Hibernians FC have completed an eye-catching transfer move with the signing of Argentine forward Federico Falcone, the Premier League club announced.
The veteran Argentine striker has established himself as one of the most prolific forwards in the Maltese Premier League and will surely boost the Paolites’ quest to revive their fortunes after a low-key 2023-24 campaign.
Falcone moves to the Paola club after he parted ways with Valletta FC at the end of last season, during which he made 21 appearances and scored seven goals.
“We are pleased to announce the signing of 34-year-old Argentinian forward, Federico Falcone,” Hibernians FC said in a statement.
“He signed a 1-year contract with the club.”
The 34-year-old forward boasts a lot of experience in Maltese football having enjoyed successful spells at Valletta FC and Birkirkara.
Falcone had two spells with Valletta FC during which he managed to make 81 appearances and score 40 goals, winning the Premier League title in season 2015-16.
The Argentine then headed to Birkirkara FC where he represented the club 82 times and scored eight goals.
During his career, Falcone also played for Argentine side Newell’s Old Boys as well as Portuguese side Boavista where he scored five goals in 26 appearances.
