Giovanni Tedesco is set to continue his career in Qatar after agreeing terms to take over at Al Mesaimeer SC, the Times of Malta can confirm.
The Italian coach had been working in Malta for several years now but he has now decided to resume his coaching career in the Middle East with the ambitious Al Mesaimeer SC side.
Tedesco is expected to leave for Qatar next week where he is expected to put pen to paper on a one-year deal.
“I am looking forward to this new challenge in Qatar,” Tedesco told the Times of Malta.
“Al Mesaimeer are a very ambitious club who play in the country’s second division but are determined to win promotion next season. I will do my very best to help the club reach its objective and at the same time hope to be appreciated in this new experience in Qatar.”
Tedesco is set to take his coaching staff in Qatar, including Spanish physical trainer Alejandro Pantoja, who worked with the former Palermo midfielder during his stint at Birkirkara.
For the Italian coach this will be his second stint in the Middle East as in 2020 he took over at Al-Bataeh.
Tedesco has been without a club since he stepped down as coach of Birkirkara FC last October.
