igeria have appointed experienced German Bruno Labbadia as the country’s new coach.
The 58-year-old will lead the team against Benin and Rwanda in 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers next month.
Nigeria welcome Benin to Uyo on September 7, before a trip to Rwanda three days later.
Labbadia has handled several top Bundesliga clubs including VfB Stuttgart, Bayer Leverkusen and Wolfsburg.
He is the sixth German to lead the Super Eagles.
NFF general secretary Mohammed Sanusi said in a statement: “The NFF Executive Committee has approved the recommendation of its technical and development sub-committee to appoint Mr Bruno Labbadia as the head coach of the Super Eagles.
“The appointment is with immediate effect.”
As a player, Labbadia was a prolific scorer, notching over 200 goals in a career that included a spell with Bayern Munich.
