Mġarr United held by Valletta, San Ġwann beat Lija in women’s league

VALLETTA 0-0 MĠARR UNITED

Valletta sprung Matchday 3’s surprise as they held title contenders Mġarr United to a goalless draw.

For the Citizens, this is their first point of the season albeit they are yet to score in this Assikura Women’s League campaign.

On the other hand, Mġarr United are now on five points after three league outings.

San Ġwann registered their second win of the season after beating Lija Athletic.

Hailey Russell drew first blood for San Ġwann, scoring on the 39th minute.

Their joy was cut short instantly when Vanessa Honorio levelled terms for Lija.

Nonetheless, San Ġwann snatched the winner through Yasmin Attard as they move to six points.

Lija Athletic remain on three.
