Former Brazil interim boss Fernando Diniz was on Monday appointed coach of Brazilian club Cruzeiro.
Diniz “will take charge of the team’s training from Tuesday”, Cruzeiro said in a statement.
During the second half of last year, the 50-year-old coached both the Brazil national team and league side Fluminense.
He was sacked by Brazil in January after three defeats in a row in 2026 World Cup qualifying.
With Fluminense, Diniz won the Copa Libertadores in November 2023, but left the team last June with the club last in the Brazilian league.
Cruzeiro have won only three of their last 10 league matches. The four-time Brazilian champions won their last league title in 2014.
