Żabbar St Patrick have parted ways with coach Joao Janeiro, the 360 Sports Malta Premier club announced.
Janeiro took over the reins of the southern club during the summer but the team have struggled to secure consistent results this season.
The Saints have picked up just one point in their last three matches and Wednesday’s 3-1 defeat against Marsaxlokk proved fatal for Janeiro as the defeat left the team bottom of the standings.
“Żabbar St. Patrick F.C. announce that the contract of Head Coach Joao Janeiro has been terminated by mutual consent with immediate effect,” the club said in a statement.
“Coach Fatos Daja and Physical Trainer Andres Quiroga will be taking over the first-team squad with immediate effect on an interim basis until a new Seniors Head Coach is appointed.”
The Saints will use the upcoming international break to bring in a replacement as they look to revive their fortunes in the Maltese top flight.
