Sliema ASC Women’s Team to Make Historic Debut in LEN Challenger Cup in Novi Sad, Serbia
Sliema ASC’s women’s team are on their way to Serbia to take part in the LEN Challenger Cup.
The qualifying tournament will be held in the Serbian city of Novi Sad and will see the Maltese side take on hosts VK Vojvodina, British side City of Manchester and Turkish side Izmir BSB.
In a statement, Sliema ASC said that this participation marks an historic moment of the club and their goal is to give important European competitive experience to their group of players.
“The Sliema ASC Women’s Water Polo Team is set to make its historic debut in the LEN Challenger Cup in Novi Sad, Serbia, marking a significant milestone in the club’s development,” the club said in a statement.
“This prestigious competition will see the team compete against some of Europe’s top waterpolo clubs, offering invaluable international experience and a chance to showcase their growth.
“Supported by key sponsors, including VisitMalta, Be Active Sport Malta, and Arkadia Food Store, the team is excited for the opportunity to compete at such a high level.
“Their participation in the tournament highlights the increasing prominence of women’s water polo in Malta and the club’s commitment to developing talented athletes.
“While the competition will be tough, the Sliema ASC Women’s Team is focused on gaining experience and continuing to improve, with hopes of future success in international tournaments.”
