The Msida Warriors were crowned champions of the European Cricket Series in Malta after a thrilling final against the Edex Knights at Marsa Sports Club.
Rockey Dianish, the Warriors’ captain, led from the front with a spectacular innings that sealed their victory.
Batting first, the Warriors posted a formidable 131/7 in their 10 overs.
Dianish delivered a captain’s knock, smashing 67 runs off just 30 balls with a mix of boundaries and innovative strokes.
His innings set the foundation for a competitive total, as the Knights’ bowlers struggled to contain his aggression.
In reply, Edex Knights put up a valiant effort, driven by a brilliant 52 off 21 balls by Samuel Stanislaus. His power-hitting gave the Knights hope, but the Warriors’ bowlers maintained their composure, restricting the Knights to 109/4 in their 10 overs.
Sharp fielding and tactical bowling changes ensured the Warriors stayed in control throughout the chase.
The 22-run victory is a testament to the Warriors’ resilience and strategic brilliance.
