Valletta FC president Claudio Grech could not hide his pride after on Sunday he was reconfirmed as the club president for the next three years, and promised to work hard and ensure to bring success both on and off the pitch.
On Sunday, Grech received a unanimous vote by the club delegates to remain at the helm of the club and in a statement he vowed to take Valletta FC to the next level.
“Today I was entrusted, once again, with the Presidency of Valletta Football Club — a privilege I hold with deep pride, total commitment, and boundless ambition,” Grech said.
“The unanimous support I received today wasn’t just a vote — it was a message. A message that the journey we started together is not only worth continuing… it’s worth accelerating.
“We are not here to settle. We are here to transform Valletta FC into a modern club, built on the best local talent.
This is not about me. It’s about our players, our youth, our families, our city, our badge, our dreams.
“#TheNextStep begins now — and I promise to walk it with all of you, with heart, courage, and an unwavering belief in what Valletta can become.”
Grech was the only candidate for the post, but a vote of approval was needed so that he could be confirmed in the club’s top position for the next three years.
Grech was installed as Valletta FC’s new president last year. He replaced Alexander Fenech, who decided to step down from the job.
During the past 12 months, Grech and the other members of the Valletta FC committee worked hard to help the club get back on its feet after they were relegated from the Premier League for the first time in the club’s history.
But the new administration managed to rebuild the squad, and the team secured promotion at their first attempt, much to the delight of their legion of fans.
