Andre Pena Da Costa reunites with former Melita coach Clive Mizzi at Gżira United

Gżira United have announced the signing of Brazilian forward Andre Pena Da Costa.

The 29-year-old striker is the latest former Melita player to join the Maroons this summer and reunite with coach Clive Mizzi, who has now taken charge at Gżira United.

So far, Gżira United have signed defender Marc Van de Bovenkamp, midfielders Santiago Martinez and David Xuereb.

“Brazilian Andre Costa signed with our Club until the end of the season,” Gżira United said in a statement.

“The 29 years old striker last season scored 8 goals with Melita and previously he played for Galo Maringa and Andraus in Brazil.

“He will join our Maxuell and Macula to form a Brazilian trio as our striking force.”

Andre Pena Da Costa failed to finish the season with Melita, as one month before the end of the championship, he informed the club that he needed to return to his homeland for personal reasons.

In the past few weeks, Gżira United also brought to the club Colombian midfielder Jork Becerra and Brazilian forward Maxuell Maia.
