Gżira United have announced the signing of Polish goalkeeper Aleksander Lubik.
The 25-year-old custodian is the latest former Melita player to head to the Maroons who next season will be under the charge of coach Clive Mizzi, who was at the helm of the Amateurs for the past two seasons.
“Aleksander Lubik is Maroon,” the Premier League club announced in a statement.
“The 25-year-old Polish goalkeeper signed a one-year contract with the club.
“Lubik started his career at ROW Rybnik and went on to play for Kuznia Ustron and LKS Goczalkowice-Zdroj, apart from a spell with MFK Karvina in Czechia.
“Last season he played with Melita.”
Kubik is the fifth former Melita player who has moved to Gżira United in the past few weeks.
The Maroons have agreed deals for Mark Van de Bovenkamp, midfielders Santiago Martinez and David Xuereb and forward Andre Penha Da Costa.
Lubik is the second goalkeeper to join Gżira United as on Wednesday the Premier League club announced that they had signed Karl Sargeant.
The 20-year-old goalkeeper is a product of Birkirkara FC and during this month he made his debut with the Under 21 national team.
