Lucas Macula agrees to join Birkirkara

Birkirkara continued with their transfer activity as they signed forward Lucas Macula, the Premier League club announced.

“We are delighted to announce the signing of Lucas Ribeiro de Oliveira, better known as Macula. The Fluminese product has played in several countries, including Portugal, Israel, Japan and Malta.

“Previously playing with Gzira United, the attacking winger has had 47 total appearances in all local competitions.”

In a statement on the club’s social media, the 25-year-old to our believes that the club is ready for the next step.

“Last year, the team showed great resilience and belief. I believe that we are ready to show once again the quality within the team and be a team that opponents don’t want to play against,” Macula said.

Macula is Birkirkara’s fourth signing following the arrival of Uruguayan defender Francisco Lopez, Jan Busuttil and Nigerian forward Franklin Sasere.
