Ħamrun Spartans are set to bring back Brazilian winger Jonny to their first-team squad, the Times of Malta can confirm.

The 27-year-old winger has agreed personal terms with the Malta champions and is set to join Giacomo Modica’s squad, who are currently undergoing their pre-season preparations in Italy.

Jonny has enjoyed an impressive first spell with Ħamrun Spartans after signing with them in the summer of 2022.

The pacey Brazilian turned out to be a very prolific forward in the Spartans’ set-up as he helped the team not only to their historical run in the UEFA Conference League, where they reached the Play-Off round, but was a key figure in winning several honours.

Jonny helped the Spartans to win two league titles and two Super Cup medals.

The Brazilian is coming from a difficult few months, where he suffered an injury and is keen to rediscover his best form with the Malta champions.

This week, Jonny underwent a medical and was given the green light to return to the team.

During his first spell at Ħamrun Spartans, Jonny made 71 appearances, scoring 17 goals and provided 13 assists.
