Tarxien Rainbows have boosted their forward line with the signing of two Brazilian strikers Jonata Bastos and Erico Jr, the Times of Malta can confirm.
The Rainbows are currently stepping up their preparations ahead of their return to the Premier League, and they have secured the signature of two key players as they bid to fight to retain their top-flight status.
Bastos is a familiar face to Maltese football as the 27-year-old last season was on the books of Sliema Wanderers, but was forced to cut his experience in Malta abruptly in January due to personal reasons.
During his spell with the Wanderers, Bastos made 11 appearances, scoring two goals and providing four assists.
The 27-year-old, who also boasts experience in Portuguese football with Braga B and Estoril, will be determined to leave his mark at the newly-promoted club.
On the other hand, Erico Jr is a new face to Maltese football.
The 31-year-old winger spent the majority of his career in Brazil with Sport Recife< Treze and River, but also had a spell in the Portuguese leagues where he donned the colours of Mafra and Desportivo Aves as well as CO Montijo in 2020.
Erico Jr and Bastos will provide much-needed firepower to the Rainbows who will again be under the charge of coach Jacques Scerri who has just penned a new one-year contract at the club.
Tarxien have based their squad for the upcoming season on talented young players who are determined to leave their mark in the Premier League while also bringing talented overseas players to compliment their squad.
