Maltese referees take charge of Champions League, Conference League qualifications

The Maltese quartet of officials who took charge of the UEFA Champions League match.

Earlier this week, two group of Maltese officials were involved in the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Conference League qualifying matches.

Ishmael Barbara took charge of the Champions League Q1 second leg tie between Andorra’s Inter Club D’Escaldes and FCSB of Romania, with the latter progressing to the second round.

Barbara was helped by assistant referees James Muscat and Duncan Spencer while Emanuel Grech served as fourth official. In addition, they were helped by Italy’s Michael Fabbri as Video Assistant Referee, assisted by Matteo Gariglio.

Meanwhile, Trustin Farrugia Cann officiated the Conference League Q1 second leg between FK Partizani of Albania and Estonia’s Nomme Kalju, with the latter qualifying to Q2.

Duncan Sultana and Mark Ciantar served as the assistant referees, with the fourth official role taken by Glen Tonna.
