Valletta FC continued to strengthen their squad with the capture of Brazilian forward Jefferson De Assis.
The Brazilian striker is a familiar face in Maltese football as he spent enjoyed several years with Gżira United where he established himself as one of the most prolific forwards in Maltese football.
Valletta have been looking to bring in a prolific goalscorer and they opted to sign the 30-year-old for the upcoming season.
After spending the first part of his career in Brazil, Jefferson arrived in Malta in 2017 when he joined Sliema Wanderers where he spent two seasons.
In January 2019, Jefferson headed to Gozo where he spent six months with Nadur Youngsters.
Then the following summer he made the move to Gżira United, where bar a short stint in the United Arab Emirates with Al-Fujairah, he became a permanent fixture with the Maroons, forming a deadly partnership with Maxuell Maia.
He left Gżira United in January 2023, to move to Indonesia where he played for Bali United and then headed to Thailand where he was on the books of Lamphun Warrior.
Now he has opted to return to Valletta FC where he is hoping to help the Citizens restore their glory days in Maltese football.
