Sliema and San Ġiljan discover opponents in European Aquatics Challenger Cup

Sliema ASC and San Ġiljan ASC discovered their opponents in the Qualification Round II of the European Aquatics Challenger Cup.The two Maltese sides progressed to this stage of the competition after managing to fill the top two placings in the same qualifying group, with Sliema winning the group ahead of San Ġiljan.

The men’s Qualification Round II will be played between February 13 and 15 and will feature 12 clubs divided into four groups of three. The top two teams from each pool will advance to the Challenger Cup Men’s Final Eight tournament, scheduled for March 12 and 15.

Sliema will be heading to Lithuania to compete in Group A, where they will be up against hosts EVK Zaibas and Finnish outfit Cetus Espoo.

On the other hand, San Ġiljan will be traveling to Slovenia, where they will be involved in Group B, which is formed by the home side, AVK Branik Maribor, and VK Banja Luka, from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
