Watch: Malta’s Jodi Jones delivers last-gasp winner in League Two clash

Jodi Jones (no.10) scores Notts County's winner in a 2-1 win over Walsall.

Jodi Jones scored a dramatic stoppage-time winner to give Notts County a 2–1 victory over Walsall in League Two, on Saturday.

The Maltese winger headed home from close range deep into added time, sparking wild celebrations among the Magpies supporters.

The victory moves Notts County up to fourth place on 64 points as they continue their push for promotion to England’s third tier.

Speaking to the BBC after the match, Jones admitted the decisive goal may well have been the first header of his career.

Jones, 17 Malta caps, has been a key figure for Notts County this season, registering six goals and four assists in 31 appearances.

The forward will be hoping that his current form will help him earn a place in the Malta squad for this month’s two-legged UEFA Nations League promotion play-off against Luxembourg.
