Brazilian goalkeeper Maringa signs new one-year contract with Valletta FC

Valletta FC have handed a new one-year contract to Brazilian goalkeeper Adilson Maringa, the Premier League club has announced.

The Brazilian shot-stopper arrived at the Capital club at the start of last season and turned out to be one of the cornerstones behind Valletta’s watertight defence in the 2025-26 campaign.

Maringa proved an influential figure as the Citizens not only had one of the best defensive records in the division but also helped the club to complete a memorable double when winning the Jubilee Cup and the FA Trophy.

“Valletta Football Club is delighted to confirm that Adilson Maringa will be staying at the club for the 2026/27 season,” the Premier League club said in a statement.

“A key figure in our journey last season, Maringa has played a crucial role between the posts, helping the Club secure a domestic double and qualification to UEFA competitions.

“His experience and presence will continue to be an important part of our ambitions as we prepare for a new season, including our return to European football.”
