Mġarr United drawn against Flora Tallinn in UEFA Women’s Champions League debut

The Greens are set to make their European debut after winning the domestic league title for the first time in the club’s history.

Mġarr United will face Flora Tallinn of Estonia in their first-ever appearance in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

The Maltese champions were drawn against the Estonian side in the semi-finals of Group 5, with the winners advancing to a final against Slovak favourites Spartak Myjava for a place in Round 2 of the competition.

Last season, Spartak Myjava knocked out Swieqi United with a hard-fought 2-1 victory.

Mġarr are set to make their European debut after winning the domestic league title for the first time in the club’s history.

They are coming off a remarkable campaign in which they also lifted the Jubilee Cup and the Knock-Out competition.

The first qualifying round matches are scheduled to be played between July 22 and July 25.

Should Mġarr progress from their group, they would then face 13-time Albanian champions Vllaznia in another semi-final tie.
