Gżira United have announced that coach Darren Abdilla and goalkeeper Karl Sargeant have agreed to new contracts at the club.
In a statement, the Premier League club said that Abdilla will again be in charge of the first team for another season.
“We are pleased to announce that Coach Darren Abdilla has re-signed with Gżira United FC for another season,” the club said in a statement.
“After his commitment, leadership, and work with the squad, Darren will continue leading the team as we build towards the new campaign.”
Abdilla returned to Gżira United last January and managed to turn around the club’s fortunes after a disappointing start to the season.
The experienced coach took over the team when they were lingering in the lower end of the standings but managed to steer the team to a place in the Top Six of the Closing Round and also guided them to the final of the FA Trophy.
On the other hand, Malta U-21 goalkeeper Sargeant has also committed his future with Gżira United.
The talented goalkeeper has put pen to paper on a new three-year deal that will keep him at the club until 2029.
