Ħamrun Spartans are set to complete two signings before the start of the 2020-21 Premier League season.
In fact, the Reds have offered a contract to Nigerian striker Franklin Sasere and are also closing in on acquiring the services of Italo-Argentine attacking midfielder Blas Cittadini.
As reported by The Times of Malta earlier this week, Sasere has impressed the Spartans technical staff during his short trial at the club and will be joining the Reds on loan from Swiss top-flight side Lugano.
On the other hand, Cittadini is a talented prospect who came through the youth academy of Argentine club Racing Club de Avellaneda.
Cittadini, who also holds an Italian passport, has played for Afro-Napoli United during the past two seasons.
During his spell in Italy he was praised for his vision and great technique, particularly with his fast movements with the ball at his feet.
Cittadini is expected be offered a one-year contract.
The Spartans are now hopeful of completing these transfers by the end of the week so they will be eligible to play in their league opener against Sirens on Monday.
