Parliamentary Secretary for Sport Dr Clifton Grima this week hosted a delegation from the Malta Handball Association.
The MHA delegation was led by president Paul Zammit, vice-president Ian Psaila, Dr Chris Bonett, Legal and International Affairs Director and Handball Operations Director Alan Grima.
During this meeting, several topics related to the development of handball in Malta were discussed.
Among the items on the agenda were the new handball complex to be built in Sta Venera, the national team’s participation in international competitions at both youth and senior level, youth development and grassroots plan as well as the promotion of the sport with a view of increasing participation.
“The association is grateful to have had this opportunity to share its plans with Hon. Dr Grima,” an MHA statement said.
“We believe that the Youths, Sports and Voluntary Organisation secretariat together with the central government and its entities are stake holders in our aims to make handball one of the top team sports in Malta in terms of participation.
“From his end, Dr. Clifton Grima, promised his full support towards the Malta Handball Association and its member clubs.”
At the end of the meeting, an actual competition ball and a national team kit were presented to Dr. Grima.
