Defensive midfielder Jackson Mendoza has signed a new contract extension with Gżira United, keeping him at the club until 2025.
The Colombian, who had joined from St. Lucia in the summer has impressed after having played all matches in the first part of the season ‘showing class and determination’.
The 22-year-old is said to have rejected interest from a Spanish club in favour of the Premier League club. To keep a tighter hold on their ‘new gem’, Gżira has set up a release clause of 300,000 euros for Mendoza.
